Whether it’s because we’ve got an unrelenting addiction to coffee or because we’ve skipped a few nighttime brush sessions, but most of us could use a little pick-me-up when it comes to tooth brightness. Luckily there are plenty of things we can do to get celebrity-worthy pearly whites.

Here are 10 things you can do NOW to help you get a breathtaking smile like that of the rich and famous!

1 – Use a fluoride rinse to strengthen teeth and kill the germs that cause plaque and gingivitis.

2 – Tooth-whitening strips will help get rid of tooth stains in just a few days (possibly even sooner). Virtually invisible, the strips are coated with a peroxide-based whitening gel to help you in your quest for that brighter smile.

3 – Mix baking soda (great for removing stains and whitening your smile), with toothpaste and place it on a damp toothbrush.

4 – Chew gum with xylitol (a sugar-free sweetener), after eating or drinking any foods known to cause stains (think coffee, tea, grape juice, and red wine). The increased saliva from the chewing will help prevent stains and studies have shown that xylitol may help prevent decay.

5 – Load up on natural tooth whiteners like strawberries, apples, celery, carrots, and oranges.

6 – Always brush after you eat to help kill germs and prevent tartar build-up and plague – and, of course, don’t forget the floss.

7 – Change your toothbrush at least every two to three months.

8 – Clean your tongue with a tongue scrapper to kill bacteria.

9 – Wear lipstick with a blue tint (dark under tone) to give the illusion of whiter teeth.

10 – If your smile needs work beyond what is achievable at-home, speak with your dentist about in-office whitening, veneers, and crowns.
