Today is the first exciting red carpet day in the new year – Golden Globes! As always some of the biggest stars in Hollywood will soon appear on the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. And of course I can’t wait to see who is wearing what. The list of nominees includes some of my favourite style icons, so it must be a very interesting night. I am really curious what Amal Clooney is going to wear to her first major red carpet event as George’s wife.
Traditionally I pick the dresses that I wish to see on most nominees and some times I guess correctly! So, let’s get into the right mood by browsing through amazing dresses that we could later compare with the actual gowns that celebrities will wear on the red carpet! Cheers for the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards!
1. BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A MOTION PICTURE – DRAMA
Jennifer Aniston – CAKE
I would like to see Jennifer Aniston in this fairytale like dress by Elie Saab! She would look breathtaking.
Felicity Jones – THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING
Felicity Jones should sparkle on the Golden Globes red carpet in this red dress by Zuhair Murad. I love this dress and if by any chance Felicity won’t wear it, then please, please someone else do!
Julianne Moore – STILL ALICE
Julianne Moore is nominated twice this year, so she needs to stand out from the rest of the celebrity crowd! For her I picked this feminine dress by Monique Lhuillier.
Rosamund Pike for GONE GIRL
Rosamund Pike is a very beautiful woman, so nothing should distract from her face. That’s why I think that if she could appropriately accessorise this dark blue dress by Monique Lhuillier, she would look stunning on the red carpet. I don’t want to see sequins on her!
Reese Witherspoon – WILD
When I saw this pale blue dress by Elie Saab, I straight away thought about Reese Witherspoon. Actually, it would be a great idea if someone wears fur to the Golden Globes. It would be so old Hollywood glamour!
2. BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A MOTION PICTURE – COMEDY OR MUSICAL
Amy Adams – BIG EYES
I see Amy Adams in this red dress by Elie Saab.
Emily Blunt – INTO THE WOODS
Emily Blunt would look amazing in this pale blue lace gown by Elie Saab.
Helen Mirren – HE HUNDRED-FOOT JOURNEY
Helen Mirren would look refined and sophisticated on the red carpet as always in this Monique Lhuillier dress.
Julianne Moore – MAPS TO THE STARS
Quvenzhane Wallis – ANNIE
3. BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE IN A MOTION PICTURE
Patricia Arquette – BOYHOOD
For Patricia Arquette I picked this Elie Saab piece.
Jessica Chastain – A MOST VIOLENT YEAR
Jessica Chastain would look glamorous in this red gown by Michael Kors.
Keira Knightley – THE IMITATION GAME
I think this Givenchy dress is made for Keira Knightley! In my mind it is so her!
Emma Stone – BIRDMAN
Would love to see this black and white lace dress by Marchesa on Emma Stone.
Meryl Streep – INTO THE WOODS
Meryl Streep would look regal on the red carpet in this dress by Elie Saab.
4. BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A TELEVISION SERIES – DRAMA
Claire Danes – HOMELAND
I doubt that any celebrity would wear Ulyana Sergeenko, but it would be amazing to see Claire Danes in this dress!
Viola Davis – HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER
Zuhair Murad would look amazing on Viola Davis.
Julianna Marguilies – THE GOOD WIFE
Julianna Marguilies should wear Elie Saab!
Ruth Wilson – THE AFFAIR
I see Ruth Wilson in this fearless dress by Atelier Versace.
Robin Wright – HOUSE OF CARDS
This black dress by Giambattista Valli would suit Robin Wright perfectly. Simple and elegant perfection!
5. BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A TELEVISION SERIES – COMEDY OR MUSICAL
Lena Dunham – GIRLS
Lena Dunham loves big dresses on the red carpet, so I think this black gown by Elie Saab would look amazing on her.
Edie Falco – NURSE JACKIE
This Valentino dress would equally look good on many celebrities, including Gwyneth Paltrow, by I have decided to “give it” to Edie Falco.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus – VEEP
Julia Louis-Dreyfus always picks good dresses for red carpet appearances. I want to see her in this deep green Valentino dress.
Gina Rodriguez – JANE THE VIRGIN
Gina Rodriguez would look cool in this Valentino dress.
Taylor Schilling – ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK
One more amazing dress by Ulyana Sergeenko that I just wish to see at the Golden Globes red carpet tonight! Preferably on Taylor Schilling :)

Tina Fey
I just want, want to see Tina Fey in this Zuhair Murad dress! She has everything to look amazing in it!
Amy Poehler
Amy Poehler would look amazing in this black lace dress by Elie Saab from the Pre Fall 2015 collection.
Gwyneth Paltrow
I know that Gwyneth Paltrow will be presenting one of the awards tonight, so I picked her this dress by Zuhair Murad.
This was fun! I really enjoyed choosing wonderful evening gowns for celebrities to wear at the 72nd Golden Globe Awards red carpet. As you have noticed, my most favourite designers are Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad. I just can’t get enough of their gorgeous designs.
Let’s see what celebrities will actually wear tonight! This is so exciting :)
