I woke up today earlier as usual, because I wanted to have enough time to watch Golden Globes 2014 award ceremony and enjoy beautiful celebrities in their stunning dresses. But the moment I stated to browse through dresses my Internet connection got lost and I couldn’t finish what I started. Only now it is back on and I can share my thoughts about the Golden Globes fashion.

Wow! What a night it was! I am really happy for Leonardo DiCaprio for finally getting the award and although, as he said himself “I didn’t expect to get it for a comedy”, he deserves it! Congrats! Amy and Tina were funny as always. I really enjoy them as hosts, let them do it every year. Although as Tina Fey pointed it out “Hollywood makes something people like over and over agin until everyone hates it”. Let’s hope the ladies will not lose their appeal to us for a long long time. I was really surprised for Jennifer Lawrence’s award, I thought she had enough presents last year, clearly not. Well, and this is all I wanted to say about the ceremony in a nutshell. Let’s get back to the ladies and their dresses.

Golden Globes 2014 best red carpet dresses

Last night the absolute queen of the Golden Globes 2014 was Cate Blanchett! Not only did she win in the main category (Best Performance By An Actress In A Motion Picture, Drama) for her magnificent performance in Blue Jasmine, but she also looked stunning on a red carpet. I am still impressed by the grace of this extraordinary woman. And to my absolute delight she was wearing a dress by Armani Prive, the exact one I have picked for Julia Roberts in my previous post!! How cool is that?!

Very close behind Cate Blanchett is Sofia Vergara in Zac Posen dress. Although Sofia didn’t win, she looked breathtaking as always. I think this is the case when the girl makes a dress and not vice versa. In my previous post I selected another Zac Posen dress for Sofia, but at least we agreed on a designer. Happy!

To tell you the truth, for me Cate Blanchett and Sofia Vergara were too far ahead of any other celebrity girls, that after them all the rest dresses just blurred in my mind. Here are some that I liked the most mainly for something original about them.

Maria Menounos in pink BCBG Max Azria dress looked interesting. I can’t say I loved it, but it was definitely popping out.

Giuliana Rancic in Lorena Sarbu dress looked chic.

I liked Kate Beckinsale in Zuhair Murad dress. Although I usually don’t really like fishtail dresses, this one looked great on Kate.

I like Georges Hobeika dress that Lily Rabe picked for her red carpet appearance.

You might be surprised, but I really loved how Helen Mirren looked during Golden Globes 2014 red carpet last night. She was dressed very elegantly and according to her age. I also love the colour and the shape of the dress. Simply immaculate!

And finally a few words about the hostesses. I loved how Tina Fey looked during the opening of the ceremony. She is clearly in a great shape and this burgundy dress helped her show it off. And Amy could have chosen something different, because this dress does’t look cool without a bra. Just saying. But hey, Amy won a Golden Globe, this is what matters in the end of the day, right? Congrats!

So, rich girls, what do you think? Have you watched Golden Globes 2014? Whose dress you liked the most last night? And although I have selected a lot of amazing designer dresses in my previous post and only one of them was actually on the red carpet last night, I still have something to look forward to for the Oscars. hehe :)
