9 Colorful And Glam Beach Cover-Ups

Easter weekend reminded me that summer is approaching faster than I expected. A lot of posh places celebrated their opening nights here in Marbella and this means that the new party season has started.

Summer season for me is all about the beach, sun and pool parties! So, in order to be ready for this party season, I decided to start looking for the perfect cover-up. Ladies, you can’t go to the beach without a perfect kaftan or cover-up, right? Truth is, that every summer I buy a new cool tunic, wear it once or twice and then just lose it somewhere or just forget about it. I don’t know what happens with me and tunics all the time, but trust my experience, girls, there are no cool beach tunics to be found in July. Thanksgiving Dinner Table Centerpiece Ideas

In Latvia (where I am from) we don’t have tradition of celebrating Thanksgiving, so all my information about this holiday is based mainly on the movies and TV-series. I love the idea of the whole family get-together with special pies and turkey, counting of blessings and the traditional Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade which will walk the streets of New York City for the 85th time this year.

This is basically all my knowledge about Thanksgiving, but what I really love about it, apart from the stuff I mentioned above, is the table decoration. I love how the house is decorated with Autumn flowers and especially the Thanksgiving dinner table.

As I have mentioned before, I learned about Thanksgiving mainly from the movies, so my greatest inspiration for the holiday table setting were festive episodes on Gossip Girl.

The table setting I loved the most was in the Episode 11 of Season 3. I tried to make a still of this episode, just to show you how it looked in case you missed it or not watching these series. But of course it is not of a very high quality, sorry about that, girls.

The other episode which showed awesome Thanksgiving table setting was the Episode 10 of the Season 4.

I just can’t wait for the next episode of Gossip Girl, I wonder if it will be dedicated to Thanksgiving as well.

So, inspired by the amazing table setting examples, I decided that although I don’t know how to cook traditional Thanksgiving dinner or have my family around here in Spain, at least what I can do is to decorate my house with festive flowers, drink some wine and count my blessings.

I searched online a little and found a lot of useful ideas on how to make amazing centerpieces yourself. For example, look at these adorable flower arrangements, which I found on Martha Stewart site:

Awesome Pumpkin Carving Ideas

Halloween is only one week away and I hope you have your Halloween costumes ready and your pumpkins carved. I have never ever carved a pumpkin in my life before, so maybe I should give it a shot this year. As always I was surfing the net for some inspirational pumpkin carving patterns and ideas and have found some really awesome ones, which I want to share with you, rich girls.

Well, I am not sure if anyone of you can actually carve something like this, I definitely can’t. But just looking at these pictures makes me unleash my creative spirit (not sure if I have one in the first place ) and start carving something right now. Michelle Obama in Marbella, Spain

Hey, Rich Girls! Remember I was telling you in one of my previous posts that Marbella is a holiday spot for rich and famous girls (and of course not only girls, there are a lot of well-off guys here as well ) and I was not lying!! Guess who has chosen Marbella as a holiday destination this August?! The First Lady of the of the United States of America herself!! Now you believe me that Marbella is a hot and glamorous holiday spot?! I told you!
Michelle Obama and her her 9-year-old daughter Sasha arrived in Malaga airport in Spain on Wednesday (4th of August 2010) for a brief holiday with family friends!! How cool is that?!

Michelle Obama with friends will be staying in one of the premier luxury hotels in Marbella – the Hotel Villa Padierna.

Michelle Obama already visited the city center of Marbella and went for sightseeing in Granada. The White House says the first lady will also pay an official visit Sunday to King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia at their summer home on Mallorca.

St. Barths – winter get away of rich and famous!

Christmas and New Years celebration is over, and now it is time to relax a little bit, enjoy the sun and have some fun on the beach. Where do you usually go in the beginning of January, when almost everywhere is cold and windy?! Well, I don’t know about you, but rich and famous people are heading to St. Barths – the tiny paradise island in the Caribbean. St. Barths is a perfect winter get away to escape the cold weather and have lot’s of fun on beautiful beaches.

You will never be bored on St. Barths, because shopping for stylish clothes and fashion accessories is better nowhere else in the Caribbean! Also, what is better than French food and wine?! Exactly, nothing! And as St. Barths is an overseas collectivity of France, you will find a lot of great restaurants with French cuisine there. St. Barths is also a great spot for windsurfing, surfing, jet skiing, boating, snorkeling and scuba lovers. And those of you who love making paparazzi type of pictures of celebrities need to hurry up, because you will probably be able to stumble upon some stars in the shops or on the beach. For example, Jason Statham, Orlando Bloom, Marc Jacobs, Lindsay Lohan, Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani with kids, Beyonce, Jay-Z and many others where spotted on St. Barths this Holiday season.

If you are traveling by yacht, then you will be able to dock it in the Gustavia port, which is also the capital of St. Barths. For those who travel by plane, St. Barths has a small airport “Gustaf III Airport”, most visiting aircraft carry fewer than twenty passengers directly to the beach at St Jean.

So, if you are looking for active, sexy, hedonistic, and hip vocation spot this winter, with plenty of famous, rich and simply attractive tanned young people as scenery, look no further, go to St. Barths.
