11 Christmas Party Hairstyle Ideas And Tutorials
November 23, 2011 by Rich Girl

Holiday season is officially here with all the necessary decorations, exciting preparations and gift hunting. And while Santa Claus is working on my extended wish list this year, I started to gather ideas on how to make myself look special during this festive time.
One of the hardest parts of the Christmas outfit is actually the hair. You want it to look outstanding, that’s why before you go to your hairdresser, it is always better to have a proper idea in mind. I always come prepared and send pictures with the look that I want to achieve to my stylist in advance. This saves a lot of time, energy and nerves, especially before important events.
So, here is my list of the coolest 2011 hairstyle ideas for Christmas and New Years parties. I have also added video tutorials of these hairdos, which I found on YouTube, just in case you want to try and do it yourself. And if after browsing all these hairstyles you will still feel like it’s not enough, check out my list of other 10 hairdos here.
1 – Elegant Updo Hairstyle For Medium or Long Hair by lilithedarkmoon

This hairstyle is very elegant and feminine. This hairdo will be perfect for your family get together or even the upscale white tie Charity event.
2 – French Fishtail Braid Hairstyles For Medium or Long Hair by lilithedarkmoon

Braided hairstyles are still one of my favorite. You can never go wrong with such hairdo. You can wear it like a french fishtail braid or can gather all your hair in a neat updo. Either way this look is very feminine and stylish. The only important thing to remember is that the braid should be done very neatly and professionally. I won’t trust myself to make such hairstyle on my own.

3 – Dutch Crown Braid Hairstyle For Medium or Long Hair by lilithedarkmoon

This is the other example of braided hairdo which will be ideal for any party. With this hairstyle you definitely won’t be bothered with your hair being all over the place.

4 – Easy Party Updo For Medium or Long Layered Hair by lilithedarkmoon

This hairstyle is classy and elegant and although it looks like you’ve spent a lot of time on it, in reality is a very easy and fast option.
5 – Celebrity Side Bun Hairstyle by lilithedarkmoon

I love this side bun hairstyle. A lot of different celebrities such as Natalie Portman, Nicole Kidman, Scarlett Johansson to name a few have chosen this particular hairdo for various red carpet events and I can see why.
6 – Greek Goddess Party Hairstyle by lilithedarkmoon

If you want to add a little bit of edge to your classical bun hairstyle, I think you can use the idea shown in the following tutorial.
7 – Funky Hairstyle With Steps For Short Hair by HairGirl247

Although I personally have long hair and that is why all previous hairstyle ideas were ideal for long or medium hair, I also have a lot of friends, who have short hair. So, I decided to add a couple ideas for girls with short hair. Actually, it was very hard to find something interesting.
I loved this edgy hairstyle for short hair. It will be perfect for New Years party in a club or any celebration with your friends.
8 – Curly Flirty Hairstyle For Short Hair by HairGirl247

This is very romantic and flirty hairdo for short hair. I love the curls!
9 – Elegant Hair Bow Hairstyle by CinthiaTruong

I absolutely love this bow hairstyle, maybe because it reminds me of the bows we put on presents. How sweet and cute! And I want presents, lots of them
10 – Kim Kardashian Inspired Boho-Chic Ribbon Braids by LuxyHair

This Kim Kardashian inspired ribbon braids hairdo is one more reminder of Christmas gifts and decorations.
11 – Funky, Edgy Party Hairstyle by LuxyHair

And if you are so over sweet and elegant hairstyles, here is a funky one. You will look like a rock star at any Christmas or New Years party you choose to attend. I think that this hairstyle will look amazing with sequined dress or even leather one.
So, girls, these are some Christmas 2011 hairstyle ideas that I could find online. Of course you need to adjust your hairdo to your whole outfit, but no one knows where you need to start. You can start with your hairstyle and choose the appropriate dress, shoes and other accessories for this particular hairdo or the other way around. Me main idea is to look your best!
What do you think, girls? Is there any hairstyle which you like? Maybe you have other cool ideas? Please share your thoughts in the comments below!

Thanksgiving Dinner Table Centerpiece Ideas
November 18, 2011 by Rich Girl
Filed under Rich Girl's Blog, Rich Photos
In Latvia (where I am from) we don’t have tradition of celebrating Thanksgiving, so all my information about this holiday is based mainly on the movies and TV-series. I love the idea of the whole family get-together with special pies and turkey, counting of blessings and the traditional Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade which will walk the streets of New York City for the 85th time this year.
This is basically all my knowledge about Thanksgiving, but what I really love about it, apart from the stuff I mentioned above, is the table decoration. I love how the house is decorated with Autumn flowers and especially the Thanksgiving dinner table.
As I have mentioned before, I learned about Thanksgiving mainly from the movies, so my greatest inspiration for the holiday table setting were festive episodes on Gossip Girl.
The table setting I loved the most was in the Episode 11 of Season 3. I tried to make a still of this episode, just to show you how it looked in case you missed it or not watching these series. But of course it is not of a very high quality, sorry about that, girls.

The other episode which showed awesome Thanksgiving table setting was the Episode 10 of the Season 4.

I just can’t wait for the next episode of Gossip Girl, I wonder if it will be dedicated to Thanksgiving as well.
So, inspired by the amazing table setting examples, I decided that although I don’t know how to cook traditional Thanksgiving dinner or have my family around here in Spain, at least what I can do is to decorate my house with festive flowers, drink some wine and count my blessings.
I searched online a little and found a lot of useful ideas on how to make amazing centerpieces yourself. For example, look at these adorable flower arrangements, which I found on Martha Stewart site:

Here is how you can make this flower arrangement yourself.

Here is how you can make this Gilded Pear Basket yourself.
But of course, who am I kidding. There is no way in a million years that I am going to make something like that myself. I’ll just go and order it online or at the nearest florist boutique. Here you can see just a few of my most favorite centerpieces that I am considering of buying. What do you think?
The FTD® Bright Autumn Centerpiece
The FTD® Fall Harvest Cornucopia by Better Homes and Gardens®
The FTD® Bountiful Flower Bouquet
Harvest Blessings Autumn Centerpiece
Jane Seymour Silk Botanicals Dahlia-Rose Centerpiece
So, what do you think, rich girls? Are you going to decorate your house for Thanksgiving this year? Let me know in the comments below.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Halloween Makeup Ideas And Tutorials
October 26, 2011 by Rich Girl
Filed under Rich Girl's Blog, Rich Photos
The last couple of days I am in “get ready for Halloween party” mode. Just yesterday I was browsing through Youtube Halloween makeup tutorials and found some interesting stuff there. I don’t know how serious you are about Halloween, but in case you are serious, you should know that party makeup is as important as your Halloween costume! And makeup is also the most exciting part of the Halloween, because you can go absolutely crazy with it! You can transform yourself completely with the help of makeup and even your parents will have troubles recognizing you. Just for one night you can be anyone you want.
Well, excited as I am about total transformation, I am still not sure about wounds and blood on my face as well as zombi makeup. Least of all I want to scare people to death with my appearance. Let’s leave it to guys
So, I have collected and I want to share with you 7 Halloween makeup video tutorials, to inspire you to try something different, ignite your imagination and do something crazy! Also, I don’t know about you, rich girls, but I am terrible with makeup, I can’t even draw a straight black line on my eye! So, I am not even dreaming of doing something so creative and professionally looking myself. If you are a “dummy” like me, one of the options is to hire a professional makeup artist or to ask your more advanced friends or even your mother to help you out.
1 – Chinese Fashion Inspired Look by KlairedelysArt

The reason I liked this look is because it is very feminine with huge fake eyelashes and lots of sparkle. Maybe it is not too much of a Halloween-ish look, but it will definitely look great to portrait some kind of fairytale character. Here is the makeup tutorial for this look:
2 – Gothic Lolita Doll Look by MichellePhan

Now this makeup I love! It is definitely cool for Halloween! It is cute and creepy at the same time and I bet that nobody would ever recognize you with this makeup on. Worth to try this one! Here is the makeup tutorial:
3 – Lady Gaga Inspired Halloween Makeup by HowdiniGuru

This look is perfect for Halloween as well as for New Years celebration or any masquerade ball or event. I think this makeup makes the girl look sexy and mysterious. Here is the makeup tutorial:
4 – Jessica Rabbit Look by MissJessicaHarlow

This Jessica Rabbit makeup is the easiest one of all, I feel like even I can do this myself
All I need to pull this look off is to find a red wig. Very sexy look!
5 – Spider Queen Black Widow Halloween Makeup by MissChievous

This is definitely a perfect makeup for Halloween. I just hope that you are not afraid of the spiders on your face.
6 – Black Swan Makeup by MichellePhan

I have found a lot of makeup tutorials of Black Swan look, but I liked this one the most. Love the eyes!
7 – Mystique from X-Men Makeup by dope2111

And finally the most dramatic, but very exciting look. If you can actually appear at a party as Mystique, people will definitely remember you, if they will recognize you.
These are just a few Halloween makeup ideas and tutorials and I hope it inspired you to try something interesting for the party this year. Let me know what do you think about Halloween makeup. What was the craziest you have ever done for Halloween in terms of makeup so far?

Halloween is only one week away and I hope you have your Halloween costumes ready and your pumpkins carved. I have never ever carved a pumpkin in my life before, so maybe I should give it a shot this year. As always I was surfing the net for some inspirational pumpkin carving patterns and ideas and have found some really awesome ones, which I want to share with you, rich girls.
Well, I am not sure if anyone of you can actually carve something like this, I definitely can’t. But just looking at these pictures makes me unleash my creative spirit (not sure if I have one in the first place
) and start carving something right now. So, anyway, here are the most incredible (in my opinion) carved pumpkins. Please do let me know which one of those is your favorite.

So, above are images of amazing pumpkin carving patterns, but have a look what else have I found! The guy who carves pumpkins for a living – The Pumpkin Geek. His carvings of different celebrities and movie characters just leave me speechless. This pumpkin geek guy has a magnificent talent! I’ve added just a couple of his pumpkins, but you should definitely check out other designs on his website.

I love this carving of Steve Jobs, I think it is amazing.

So, rich girls, what do you think about these pumpkin carving patterns? Which one do you like the most? What will your pumpkin look like this Halloween? Please do share your opinion in the comments below.

Top 10 Coctail Dresses for Rich Christmas and New Years
December 4, 2010 by Rich Girl
Christmas and New Years are one of my favorite holidays. I love to spend Christmas quietly with my family and party hard till 7 a.m. or even later during New Years celebration. Every year I buy new dress for these occasions, for New Years because it is a must to enter new year in something completely new and for Christmas, just because it is a great excuse to buy a nice evening dress.
Here I wanted to share my Top 10 dresses for upcoming Christmas and New 2011 Year celebrations.
10 – Alice+Olivia Nicolette sequin bustier dress
I loved this dress for the romantic and sexy mix. The bottom of this dress is very feminine and flirty, whereas the top will definitely flatter those girls with breast sizes a little bit more than just B cup. I am lucky to have something extra in this department
Not that I want to brag about it, just saying.

Alice+Olivia Nicolette sequin bustier dress €350 (net-a-porter.com)
9 – Burberry Prorsum Lace-paneled silk dress
Well, I picked this dress, because I love very feminine and elegant stuff as much as I love everything sexy. This dress will never be out of fashion, because it is classic. Maybe a little bit boring for young girls, but definitely a great choice for Christmas party with the family.

Burberry Prorsum Lace-paneled silk dress €1,195 (net-a-porter.com)
8 – HALSTON Embellished neoprene dress
In this dress I love the skirt more than the top, but it goes amazingly together. I think this dress will be perfect for every occasion, even to Christmas party at your office (in case you work in an office, of course).

HALSTON Embellished neoprene dress €2,785 (net-a-porter.com)
7 – Jason Wu Strapless corseted lace mini dress
Oh, my! I fell in love with this dress from the first sight. This dress represents everything I love – class, chick, romance and yes, a tiny hint to sex. Lace always turns everything upside down. Love this dress.

Jason Wu Strapless corseted lace mini dress €3406.94 (net-a-porter.com)
6 – Lela Rose Ombre woven silk-blend dress
One thing I like about this dress, is the colour – it is not black! And again, this dress will be perfect for any occasion, just not black tie, obviously.

Lela Rose Ombre woven silk-blend dress €1,663.05 (net-a-porter.com)
5 – Miu Miu Embellished wool pique dress
This is the perfect dress for Christmas or New Years celebration, just look at these cute snow flakes! This dress is so adorable and yet sexy, because of the very low neck.

Miu Miu Embellished wool pique dress €1,575 (theoutnet.com)
4 – Sass & Bide Forget The Rest dress
We are slowly approaching my top 3 dresses, but now my number 4 dress. I love it because of bling-bling and the fact that this dress will do wonders to your body, it will look slimmer yet with curves, if you’ve got any of course

Sass & Bide Forget The Rest dress €1,285.74 (net-a-porter.com)
3 – Thomas Wylde Stinger crystal-embellished silk dress
Here is one of my top-top dresses! Just try to guess why I like it
If you are brave enough to wear this dress like you should, without a bra, there is no doubt you will receive looks of admiration from every single Man at the party as well as hateful stares from the other girls. Love it!

Thomas Wylde Stinger crystal-embellished silk dress €1,800 (net-a-porter.com)
2 – Versace Patent-leather strapless dress
This is a Hit dress! It is amazing! In this Versace dress you will be the center of everyone’s attention. Maybe people will forget what the food were like on the party, but they definitely won’t forget the way you looked that night! This mini dress is definitely standout. Love it, Love it!!

Versace Patent-leather strapless dress €7,509 (net-a-porter.com)
In the above listed 9 dresses you can also go to the club during New Years celebration! You can go anywhere, as long as there is party and people to admire you.
1 – Valentino One-Shoulder Voulant Gown
And the Oscar goes to… Well, the above dresses were amazing and they were all cocktail dresses, but this particular dress owns and wows my heart (even though it is not a cocktail dress, he-he). This Valentino dress is for the Queen of the Night. You will look elegant, very feminine and mysterious. I love this dress, the perfect choice for any black tie event.

Valentino One-Shoulder Voulant Gown – $7,900 (shopstyle.com)
So, here are my Top 10 dresses for Christmas and New 2011 Years celebrations. What do you think? Which one would you choose?
I would love to hear from you, as well as would love to see your selections!
Have a very happy Holiday Season, Rich Girls!
