14 Best Dresses From Golden Globes 2012
January 17, 2012 by Rich Girl
So girls, what do you think about the Golden Globe Awards this year? Have all your favorite actresses and actors win? I am really sad for Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, it seems like they never will be able to win anything. They are both great actors, but somehow every time they are nominated for an award there is always someone better in the same category. Like George Clooney, for example
I love Clooney, but I wanted for Brad or Leo to win this time. Well, there is always a hope for the Oscars.
Anyway, I think that the show was great and everyone received the deserved prizes. I was particularly happy for the “Modern Family”, because I love this show! But what I really want to talk about is the red carpet and the dresses. To tell you the truth, at first I was a little bit disappointed with the dresses that our beloved celebrities have chosen for the awards’ red carpet. I thought that some of the dresses were plain boring and some were just stupid, but as I was looking at the same pictures again and again, I started to get some of the dresses and even liked a few.
Here is my “Top 11 Best Golden Globe 2012 Celebrity Red Carpet Dresses”
11 – Zooey Deschanel in Prada
I loved this dress because of the interesting top and dramatic back. I have never seen green and black look so organically together.

10 – Jessica Alba in Gucci
The dress all by itself maybe is not something extraordinary, but it looks great on Jessica Alba. I just wonder what would not look great on Alba? She is gorgeous.

9 – Jenna Dewan in Maria Lucia Hohan
I love the color, the top and the back of this dress. All in all it works great for Jenna, although if there were a lot of other amazing dresses on the red carpet I probably wouldn’t pick this one at all.

8 – Emma Stone in Lanvin
I loved the dress, chosen by Emma, it looked great on her. What I would suggest her for the next red carpet event is to review her makeup. I think she overdone her eyes a little bit too much.

7 – Viola Davis in Pucci
Viola Davis looked stunning and elegant in this Pucci dress. I don’t know what the color is called exactly, but it looks wonderful on Viola!

6 – Claire Danes in J.Mendel
This J.Mendel dress was an excellent choice for Claire Danes. I loved the dramatic back and black and white color combination.

The above listed dresses were elegant and beautiful, but to my mind a little bit too simple for such a grand event as Golden Globe Award ceremony. These dresses would be absolutely amazing choices for attending a wedding, but to stand out on a red carpet you need to try harder and therefore here is my Top 5 Best Dresses. I won’t even explain why I love these dresses the most. What I just want to say is that dress can be beautiful or amazing all by itself, but it is the girl that makes the dress look spectacular!
5 – Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang

4 – Evan Rachel Wood in Gucci

3 – Lea Michele in Marchesa

2 – Diana Argon in Giles

1 – Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace

And while Angelina Jolie was the ultimate star on the red carpet, there were also 3 more dresses that are worth mentioning:
Paris Hilton at the Golden Globe Awards 2012 after party:

Kim Kardashian in Bruce Oldfield dress:

Miranda Kerr in Dolce & Gabbana

Now I have mentioned everyone I liked
Although I still think that the dresses that I have chosen for this event myself, were much more amazing than the ones chosen by celebrities. There, I said it!
So, rich girls, what do you think about the dresses? Did you like or hate something in particular? Let me know your opinion in the comments below!

11 Christmas Party Hairstyle Ideas And Tutorials
November 23, 2011 by Rich Girl
Holiday season is officially here with all the necessary decorations, exciting preparations and gift hunting. And while Santa Claus is working on my extended wish list this year, I started to gather ideas on how to make myself look special during this festive time.
One of the hardest parts of the Christmas outfit is actually the hair. You want it to look outstanding, that’s why before you go to your hairdresser, it is always better to have a proper idea in mind. I always come prepared and send pictures with the look that I want to achieve to my stylist in advance. This saves a lot of time, energy and nerves, especially before important events.
So, here is my list of the coolest 2011 hairstyle ideas for Christmas and New Years parties. I have also added video tutorials of these hairdos, which I found on YouTube, just in case you want to try and do it yourself. And if after browsing all these hairstyles you will still feel like it’s not enough, check out my list of other 10 hairdos here.
1 – Elegant Updo Hairstyle For Medium or Long Hair by lilithedarkmoon

This hairstyle is very elegant and feminine. This hairdo will be perfect for your family get together or even the upscale white tie Charity event.
2 – French Fishtail Braid Hairstyles For Medium or Long Hair by lilithedarkmoon

Braided hairstyles are still one of my favorite. You can never go wrong with such hairdo. You can wear it like a french fishtail braid or can gather all your hair in a neat updo. Either way this look is very feminine and stylish. The only important thing to remember is that the braid should be done very neatly and professionally. I won’t trust myself to make such hairstyle on my own.

3 – Dutch Crown Braid Hairstyle For Medium or Long Hair by lilithedarkmoon

This is the other example of braided hairdo which will be ideal for any party. With this hairstyle you definitely won’t be bothered with your hair being all over the place.

4 – Easy Party Updo For Medium or Long Layered Hair by lilithedarkmoon

This hairstyle is classy and elegant and although it looks like you’ve spent a lot of time on it, in reality is a very easy and fast option.
5 – Celebrity Side Bun Hairstyle by lilithedarkmoon

I love this side bun hairstyle. A lot of different celebrities such as Natalie Portman, Nicole Kidman, Scarlett Johansson to name a few have chosen this particular hairdo for various red carpet events and I can see why.
6 – Greek Goddess Party Hairstyle by lilithedarkmoon

If you want to add a little bit of edge to your classical bun hairstyle, I think you can use the idea shown in the following tutorial.
7 – Funky Hairstyle With Steps For Short Hair by HairGirl247

Although I personally have long hair and that is why all previous hairstyle ideas were ideal for long or medium hair, I also have a lot of friends, who have short hair. So, I decided to add a couple ideas for girls with short hair. Actually, it was very hard to find something interesting.
I loved this edgy hairstyle for short hair. It will be perfect for New Years party in a club or any celebration with your friends.
8 – Curly Flirty Hairstyle For Short Hair by HairGirl247

This is very romantic and flirty hairdo for short hair. I love the curls!
9 – Elegant Hair Bow Hairstyle by CinthiaTruong

I absolutely love this bow hairstyle, maybe because it reminds me of the bows we put on presents. How sweet and cute! And I want presents, lots of them
10 – Kim Kardashian Inspired Boho-Chic Ribbon Braids by LuxyHair

This Kim Kardashian inspired ribbon braids hairdo is one more reminder of Christmas gifts and decorations.
11 – Funky, Edgy Party Hairstyle by LuxyHair

And if you are so over sweet and elegant hairstyles, here is a funky one. You will look like a rock star at any Christmas or New Years party you choose to attend. I think that this hairstyle will look amazing with sequined dress or even leather one.
So, girls, these are some Christmas 2011 hairstyle ideas that I could find online. Of course you need to adjust your hairdo to your whole outfit, but no one knows where you need to start. You can start with your hairstyle and choose the appropriate dress, shoes and other accessories for this particular hairdo or the other way around. Me main idea is to look your best!
What do you think, girls? Is there any hairstyle which you like? Maybe you have other cool ideas? Please share your thoughts in the comments below!
Happy Holiday Season, Rich Girls!

10 Best Boots For Cold Season
November 9, 2011 by Rich Girl
One of the reasons why I don’t like winter or autumn is because of the boots. I am more of the shoes and pumps girl. But, what can you do, when it is cold outside you just can’t go outside in shoes. And even in Spain during winter you need to wear something warmer than just shoes or flats. So, I really have no other choice, but to look for some cool stylish boots online.
What I am looking for is comfortable, warm and wear-all-day-long type of boots. I have put together a list of 10 pairs I like the most, all I have to do now is to choose one and just buy it. Girls, could you please help me to choose the boots which you think are the absolute best from the following list and let me know in the comments below. I would really appreciate it!
1 – Jimmy Choo – Doreen Waxed Suede Boots
These tall black waxed suede boots are my absolute favorite so far. I love the gold-toned two-way zipper. I think that they are simple yet stylish. You can wear these with jeans as well as with a skirt or a dress, which is very practical.
Jimmy Choo – Doreen Waxed Suede Boots
2 – Gucci – Camelot High Flat Boots
The only reason I put these tall black textured leather boots by Gucci on my list is because of the rabbit fur lining. These boots are definitely comfortable and warm, but not sexy at all. What do you think, girls?
Gucci – Camelot High Flat Boots
3 – Gucci – Saint Moritz High Flat Boots
I like these Gucci tall cocoa suede boots. They are definitely comfortable and nice.
Gucci – Saint Moritz High Flat Boots
4 – Miu Miu – Tall Textured Leather Boots
These tall textured leather boots by Miu Miu is my other best choice. Because I am not a great fun of suede boots, this pair with a pewter-toned exposed zipper at the side seems like the best option even for the rainy days.
Miu Miu – Tall Textured Leather Boots
5 – Jimmy Choo – Yen Suede Biker Boots
These black suede boots are not tall and look more like men boots, but I somehow like them. I have also seen my friend wearing something similar and they looked cool on her.

6 – Givenchy – Rubber Rain Boots
Ok, rubber boots are my soft spot. I love rubber boots, they are the most comfortable and practical boots in the whole world. Although most of the time they don’t look good, these black rubber rain boots by Givenchy are cool.
7 – Tory Burch – Blaire Riding Boots
I absolutely love these red leather flat boots by Tory Burch.
Tory Burch Blaire Riding Boots
8 – Vera Wang – Lavender Label York Wedge Boots
These leather wedge boots by Vera Wang look interesting, but I am not sure about the covered wedge heel. Are they going to be comfortable to wear all day long?
Vera Wang Lavender Label York Wedge Boots
9 – KORS Michael Kors – Nicolette Suede Riding Boots
I like these waxed suede boots by Michael Kors. What is important is that they’re already distressed looking, so I don’t really need to worry about anything, I can be rough
KORS Michael Kors Nicolette Suede Riding Boots
10 – UGG Australia – Classic Tall Boots
And finally good old UGG boots. I believe that these are the most comfortable and warm of all, but somehow I am still not sure about them. Every year I think that I should get one pair and still end up not buying. Maybe I should do so this year?
UGG Australia Classic Tall Boots
So, here is the list of my favorite boots for this season. What do you think, rich girls? Looking forward to talk to you in the comments below!

Enter the World of High Fasion with Vivienne Westwood Watches
November 3, 2011 by Rich Girl
Ladies timepieces need to make a statement and help you to stand out from the crowd and this is exactly what you’ll be getting when you invest in Vivienne Westwood watches. The immensely striking British fashion and jewellery designer has entered the world of ladies luxury watches with some considerable style and her latest collection is certain to cause a splash in the fashion circles.
If you’re interested in understated and run of the mill ladies watches, then the Vivienne Westwood collection isn’t for you – they are definitely more up the street of those fashionistas who want to really turn heads with their choice of clothing and luxury fashion accessories. Regardless of what types of colours and styles that you favour when it comes to the timepiece that you wear, you find something within the extensive Vivienne Westwood collection that more than fits the bill.

Ladies watches are, of course, a matter of personal preference and whilst many will adore Vivienne Westwood watches, there will, of course, be those who prefer their watches to be a little less showy. For these individual, it is probably a good idea to consider other luxury brands such as Gucci, Chanel and Tissot watches. Personally speaking, I find it difficult to dislike anything about Vivienne Westwood watches as all the designs are so unique and striking and quite unlike anything else on the luxury ladies watches market.

In terms of ladies fashion, you know you’ve made it when your work makes it onto the silver screen – and Vivienne Westwood clothing featured regularly throughout the HBO television series Sex and the City. Her collection of luxury watches follows on closely from how she designs her clothing and the styles are incredibly eclectic and easy on the eye. There are so many different varieties to choose from with Vivienne Westwood watches that you will be spoiled for choice for sure. It is definitely one of the most unique and stylish brands available today within the field of luxury timepieces and I for one am certain that it will remain this way for some considerable time to come.
This post is written by James, who is a fashion and luxury watches aficionado, who enjoys writing about the latest watches and jewellery to hit the marketplace. He is a big fan of Vivienne Westwood watches and keeps a keen eye on all the latest timepieces from this luxury designer.

Halloween Costume Ideas
October 3, 2011 by Rich Girl
I am almost always late with Halloween costumes, well, not just Halloween any costumes. Usually I am the one who runs around the shops like crazy in search for any costume a few hours before the event. Which is totally wrong, because: A – there are just no good costumes left; and B – this last minute search ruins the whole point of the event, instead of getting ready and be in a good mood, I am frustrated.
So, this year I decided to shop for the best 2011 Halloween costume in advance (I bet some of you already have a costume prepared, good girls!). Last year when I was searching for a website with a grand selection of different kind of Halloween costumes, I found this amazing site called SpiritHalloween.com. This site has a wide range of high quality Halloween costumes as well as decorations.
I still haven’t decided on a costume I am going to wear this Halloween, here is just a few costumes that I like. Although it is really hard to pick just one costume out of numerous different options on SpiritHalloween.com
1 – Sucker Punch Girl
My first idea of a Halloween look is Sucker Punch Girl. To be honest I didn’t quite like the movie itself, the girls were super sexy there. So, maybe it is a good idea to wear something similar.
Sucker Punch Babydoll Adult Women’s Costume
Sucker Punch Amber Fight Adult Women’s Costume
2 – California Girl
The other idea of the look is to dress like Katy Perry in her video for “California Girls” song. I think this costume is really cool and colorful plus I love the wig.
3 – Sexy Pirate Girl
The other idea is to wear something pirate theme related. Out of a lot of different pirate costumes, I picked this one, because although it is not too revealing as the other options, it is still very sexy and feminine and looks expensive. Love this costume!
Treasure Chest Adult Women’s Costume
4 – Red Riding Hood Girl
Red ridding hood look is a classic and it is mostly for comfort and playing it safe. In this costume any girl will look cute plus you can always hide a snack or a bottle in your little basket, just in case
Lil Red Riding Hood Adult Costume
5 – Spanish Girl
I am not really sure about this costume, as here in Spain everyone looks like this on a daily basis (just kidding). I am also afraid that no one actually will understand who I am trying to represent, because it looks more like a street girl with a fan than a Spanish lady really.
6 – Parisian Show Girl
I loved these costumes because of cute little hats.
Parisian Showgirl Adult Women’s Costume
Can Can Cutie Adult Women’s Costume
7 – School Girl
I know that wearing a costume of a school girl is a cliche, but I really miss my school days lately, so maybe it is not such a bad idea to be a school girl again, if only just for one night.
Sexy Charm School Girl Adult Costume
8 – Goddess
Goddess, simply Goddess
Usually, when I look for Halloween costumes almost all of them are super sexy, too revealing and tiny. But what if you are not the kind of person, who will be comfortable in sexy nurse outfit in public? What if you are not sure if your body is perfect enough to be revealed so dramatically? Well, there are of course other choices. Here I have selected just three out of many, that I loved
Roman Empress Plus Size Adult Costume
Pin Up Nurse Adult Plus Costume
So, rich girls, what do you think? Have you decided on what to wear for this Halloween already?
Have an amazing Halloween party this year, girls!!

6 Fashion Trends to Expect in 2012
September 29, 2011 by Rich Girl
Even though 2011 isn’t officially over yet, fashion moguls and trendsetters are already preparing for the fashion trends that are slated to become dominant and popular in the spring and summer of 2012.
If you like to stay on top of the latest fashion trends, or even if you’re hoping to update your wardrobe just in time to ring in the New Year, here are six fashion trends to prepare for in 2012:
1. Floral Prints
Flower patterned clothing has become quite the trend over the past couple of years, but you should still expect to see the presence of floral prints for many months (or years) to come. Not just limited to floral print patterns, many top designers are choosing bold graphic prints and layering different pieces of clothing together to combine them with various prints and create a bold and fresh fashion statement.
2. White, Monotone and Tan
This summer we witnessed a “white/tan is the new black” sort of movement, and 2012 is no exception. Be prepared to see a lot of white and “safari-style” clothing in the summer months, or even clothes with a combination of white and black throughout the rest of next year.
3. Vintage Clothing
Given the current state of the economy, more and more fashion trendsetters are looking to vintage and recycled clothing to help create a fresh new trend for the upcoming months.
4. Reds
Fashion lovers are already taking note that numerous different styles and pieces that are slated for the upcoming 2012 fashion shows seem to have a lot of fresh and strong reddish colors like poppy, geranium or even clothes with orange tones. (As a matter of fact, a lot of top designers are choosing red as their primary color of choice).
5. Oversized Jewellery
Oversized gem rings, necklaces and bracelets are expected to dominate the fashionable accessories movement for the upcoming year, so if you’re going to go on an accessory shopping trip, try to find accessories that have bold colors and try to mix and match them with different tones of red, black and white.
6. Plaid
Mimicking the grunge trend back in the mid-1990s, plaid clothing is expected to make a triumphant return next year, specifically in the late winter and early spring seasons. Be on the lookout for tartan and plaid articles of clothing, as well as plaid accessories, skirts, coats and trousers.

Victoria Beckham – Fashion Passion And Family
July 11, 2011 by Rich Girl
Hurray, Victoria Beckham just welcomed a long awaited baby girl, Harper Seven Beckham, this Sunday. It seems like everyone was waiting to see a new little fashion icon and rich girl. Well, I am definitely waiting to see what kind of cute tiny outfits little Beckham princess will be wearing. There was a rumor that Victoria already ordered little custom-made baby shoes with trademark red soles from Christian Louboutin. How cool is that?!
So, before all attention will go towards a little princess, I would like to take a moment and to talk about the proud mother – Victoria Beckham.
It was hard for me to decide in which category to put a post about Victoria, because her life is a true Success Story and she also have built a strong Fashion Brand. As everything in our girls life always goes down to clothes, I decided to emphasize the fashion part, but also not forgetting to talk a little about Victoria’s success in other parts of her life.
I personally really like Victoria Beckham and think that she is a fascinating woman and rich girl. She is showing us that a girl can really have it all: loving husband, amazing family, successful career, fame, recognition and lots of money. So, what do we really know about Victoria Beckham and what can we learn from her example? Let’s follow Victoria through her life’s journey with the help of Wikipedia and Victoria’s website.
- Music Career - Victoria’s rise to fame started when she joined “Spice Girls” in 1994 when she was 20 years old. After the group released their single called “Wannabe” in 1996, there was no doubt that the new pop ladies are going to take over the world, “Spice Girls” was a very popular group in the ’90′s. Victoria definitely stood out from the rest of the four girls with her feminine look and high heels, because of her sophisticated style she was nicknames “Posh Spice”.
After “Spice Girls” band stopped recording, Victoria tried to build her solo career, but it was not that successful. Although all of her released singles reached top 10 in UK neither of them reached number 1.
- Books – Victoria wrote two books: first one was her autobiography “Learning to Fly”, released on 13 September 2001 and became the third best-selling non-fiction title of 2001. The book documents her childhood, time during the Spice Girls, her marriage and family life, as well as her career at the time.
Victoria Beckham’s second book, That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything In Between”, was published on 27 October 2006. a fashion advice guide, entitled “[46] The book includes tips from Beckham on fashion, style and beauty. According to Wikipedia, the book became another bestseller, and has sold 400,000 copies in Britain alone since it was published in hardcover.
- Fashion - I am not gonna go into details about what Victoria Beckham designed over the years, on which magazine covers and fashion shows she appeared, if you are interested in such kind of details you can always find them online. What I am more interested in is her fashion label, which became very popular with Hollywood celebrities.

Photo: Telegraph.co.uk
Gwyneth Paltrow, Blake Lively, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Trudie Styler, Elle Macpherson, Nicole Scherzinger, Jennifer Hudson, Heidi Klum, Jennifer Lopez, Katie Holmes, Jessica Simpson, Eva Longoria were seen in Victoria Beckham designs and looked gorgeous.
During New York Fashion Week Victoria Beckham presented the 100th dress she has designed. I have picked a few designs which I liked the most from the Spring/Summer 2011 and Autumn/Winter 2011 collections, but you can definitely go and see the whole collection and decide what you like on Victoria’s website.
Rich Girl’s Picks From Victoria Beckham Spring / Summer 2011 Dress Collection

Rich Girl’s Picks From Victoria Beckham Autumn / Winter 2011 Dress Collection

So, rich girls, what do you think about the dresses? Would you wear them?
- Family - I believe that whatever success and huge amounts of money you have, this doesn’t matter a lot if you don’t have a person to share it with. Some girls choose to not have a family and concentrate mainly on their career, and it is their choice and right to do. I personally think that there should always be a balance in your life and if you can manage to have a successful career and have adorable kids and husband, then you have really earned a “Super Woman” title. But again, no one says that if you don’t have any of this you are not amazing girl! It is just very rare when someone has it all, maybe just because not everyone wants it in the first place.
Victoria Beckham has 4 kids and world-famous handsome footballer David Beckham as a husband, successful fashion label, great looks and world fame. I just wonder what else she might need and want at this point? What do you think, girls?
I don’t know about you, but I am really inspired by Victoria Beckham. Her life just proves that you should never stop to strive for more in your life, try different things, but also keep the balance between your career and personal life, a heavy, but manageable task.

Charlene Wittstock’s or Kate Middleton’s Wedding Dress?
July 5, 2011 by Rich Girl
This year is rich for Royal weddings, first, Kate Middleton now Duchess of Cambridge kept us waiting in anticipation to see her special wedding dress by Sarah Burton, and just a couple of days ago Charlene Wittstock now Princess Charlene of Monaco sparkled the whole principality in Giorgio Armani Prive white wedding dress.
Royal weddings remind us of fairy tales we all used to love when we were kids and these two weddings especially have something in common with “Cinderella”, both brides were not from Royal families. They also give us yet another proof that everything is possible, even to marry a real prince. Ahh, fairy tales
So, if you were dreaming to marry a prince one day, what kind of wedding dress you imagined to wear? And what do you think about the wedding dress choices the two brides have made?

To tell you the truth, when I first saw Kate Middleton’s wedding dress I was disappointed. Maybe because there were such a huge fuss in the press about the dress, everyone was so eager to see it. All this buzz raised my expectations really high and when I saw it on TV, I was disappointed. I thought that the dress was too simple to wear on a Royal wedding, I expected it to be over the top, something that you won’t see on a friend’s wedding.
But now, when I look at the dress, after all these wedding speculations are over, I actually think it was nice, the lace top was exquisite and the gown definitely suited the Duchess of Cambridge perfectly.

After being mildly disappointment with Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, I was not expecting anything from Charlene Wittstock’s wedding gown. And maybe that’s why I loved it so much! The dress was exactly like I pictured Royal wedding dress should be: adorned with 40,000 Swarovski crystals, gold and pearl hand embroidery on the front and a very long train. Luxurious and chic!

I have read some comments on other sites that the neckline is wrong for girls with broad shoulders, but I think it somehow worked for Princess Charlene of Monaco and looked great on her.

So, rich girls, what do you think about the Royal wedding dresses? Which one did you like the most?
If you want to see more pictures of Princess Charlene wedding dress you can see them here: fashionfame.com and Duchess of Cambridge wedding dress here: fashionista.com At least that’s where I took the pictures from.

Exclusive Interview With Fashion Blog Owner
January 11, 2011 by Rich Girl
Fashion blogging is one of the major trends online at the moment. And if done properly and with passion, it usually brings fame and recognition to the owners of such blog. For example, Swedish retail giant H&M after successful collaboration line with Lanvin will now launch a line designed by a fashion blogger in February!
Yes, fashion blogging is popular, but not everyone can do it in such unique and tasteful manner, as the owner of a wonderful blog I have recently found – Coco & Vera. The moment I stumbled upon this blog, I felt that I have found something special and I just wanted to share it with you. Please meet Cee, the girl behind Coco & Vera!
Rich Girl: Hi, Cee! Thank you for finding time to talk to Rich Girls Club! In order for us to know you better, please name 5 words/things that best describe you.
Cee: Two words that best describe me are focused and determined. It sometimes takes me some time to decide what I want to do, but once I do know, there is nothing I won’t do to achieve what I want. I would describe my style as classic, sophisticated and elegant; I’m not the type of girl who tries every trend, but I’m not shy about experimenting with things that aren’t trendy if I think they fit my style.

Rich Girl: How does the idea of creating Coco & Vera came up? Who and what inspired you to have your own website? Tell us more about it.
Cee: I’ve always loved fashion, and I have a bachelor of fine arts in creative writing. When I first stumbled upon a fashion blog, I realised that starting my own would be the perfect way to combine my two passions. It took another six months for me to work up the courage to do it, though; the idea of putting my style out there for the world to see- and possibly criticise- was terrifying. Since I finally decided to take the plunge, though, the experience has been nothing but positive.
Rich Girl: When I first stumbled upon your blog, I was amazed by the amount of high quality pictures of you in different outfits! Who is behind the camera and how do you always come up with new ideas for your outfits?
Cee: My husband is my photographer, and in that respect I’m very spoiled as a blogger- I think most girls take their own shots using a tripod and timer! My husband trained in photography at school and works part-time as a photographer (although now he mostly works for me! He does have his own blog) He shoots on a Nikon D300S, which takes just fabulous photos. As far as outfits are concerned, I get a lot of inspiration from other bloggers, and also from fashion magazines- InStyle is my favourite. But my ideas mainly come from trying to remix what is already in my closet- fashion is more about working with what you have than always having something new.
Rich Girl: How do you picture yourself and your blog Coco & Vera in 3 years time?
Cee: In some ways I just hope that Coco & Vera is still holding readers’ interest in three years time! Honestly, though, I would love for my work on my blog to eventually transition into a career in the fashion industry, possibly writing a column for a magazine or newspaper.
Rich Girl: On your blog you made the Resolution for 2011, tell us more about it. Have you decided how you gonna reward yourself in the end of 2011 for keeping it?
Cee: This December, I bought Christian Dior’s book, The Little Dictionary of Fashion. Reading it, I assumed it had been written in the early 1900s, the text seemed so dated… but it turns out it was published in 1954! How we have gone from wearing hats, gloves and afternoon frocks to yoga pants and hoodies in less than sixty years is baffling. I believe that fashion is about everything but being physically comfortable, so I decided to give up the item of clothing that I usually wear for comfort: denim. I make sure I keep my resolution, I gave away all of my jeans. At the end of the year, I’ll take all of the money that I saved not buying denim and put it towards something nice, like a Marc by Marc Jacobs purse.
Rich Girl: If you had all the money in the world what 3 shoe designer brands would be dominating your closet? Why?
Cee: The first one is easy: Christian Louboutin. It sounds cliché, but I recently had a chance to wear a pair for the first time and not only do they look stunning, they are also amazingly comfortable! I also love Repetto; they’re a dance shoe company that has branched out into fashion footwear and handbags. Their shoes are very ballerina chic, and designed for maximum comfort. And finally, I would have to choose Chanel. Because if I had all the money in the world, almost everything I bought would be from Chanel.
Rich Girl: Who are your most favorite fashion designers?
Cee: It’s really hard to narrow this down. Based on my answer to the last question, you know that I love Chanel. But I also love the girly glamour of Marchesa; the quirky whimsy of Marc by Marc Jacobs; the classic elegance of Miu Miu and the sleek simplicity of Chloe. As far as designer personalities are concerned, I really admire Miuccia Prada; she’s a strong woman who doesn’t mince words, and very witty, too!
Rich Girl: Is there any celebrities whose style you like the most?
Cee: When I was in ninth grade, one of my teachers told me I looked like Audrey Hepburn. I knew that was an incredible compliment but didn’t really know why, so I started investigating and found I really loved Audrey’s style, especially her proclivity from boat-neck dresses. Currently, I love Marion Cotillard, because she isn’t afraid to take risks with fashion and wear things that others wouldn’t dare, lest they end up on a ‘worst dressed’ list. She never looks the same twice, but she never fails to look amazing!
Rich Girl: How would you define success and can you call yourself a success? If not, what do you need to achieve to feel that way?
Cee: Coco and Vera has done very well so far, but it is only in its seventh month. I’ve been lucky to be successful thus far, but that doesn’t mean that I can become complacent… To remain successful, I know I have to keep working hard. I still have one big dream that I have yet to achieve, and that is moving to Paris. If I’m one day writing Coco and Vera from an apartment in Montmartre, I will have achieved everything I ever wanted.
Rich Girl: What advice do you have for those who want to start their own business or blog?
Cee: The same things don’t work for everyone when they start a blog, but I can say for sure that the more work you put into something, the more you’ll get out of it. I started blogging in June, but I only started taking it seriously in October. Since October, my blog has grown exponentially more quickly, and I know that is a direct reflection of my hard work. If you want to succeed, you have to want it; and if you want it, you have to work for it. Study other people who are successful to see what they’ve done and take inspiration from them, but remain fundamentally yourself; people are attracted to unique voices and points of view. If you can do those two things, the rest will come naturally.
Rich Girl: And the last question: give us your definition of Rich Girl.
Cee: To me, the idea of being rich has infinitely more to do with your quality of life than with how much money you have. If you’re happy and you have a passion for something; people you love who love you back and the freedom to indulge yourself in your favourite treats, whether its lattes or lipstick, then you’re rich.
Rich Girl: Thank you, Cee, for this wonderful interview! I wish your dream of blogging from your apartment in Montmartre will come true very soon! Good luck!
