Cannes Film Festival Best Dresses – Day 1

I was looking through dresses from the Cannes Film Festival 2012 opening night red carpet and it hit me. I am actually jealous of these beautiful actresses and models. It seems like their life is a constant party where they have a chance to rock yet another wonderful dress and look exceptionally gorgeous. And yes, I felt jealous, because I don’t remember when was the last time I appeared anywhere in a long evening gown. Most events that I have attended recently required maximum a cocktail dress. Last time I wore an evening gown and felt like a star was at the SuperYachts party in Monaco. So, guess what I am trying to say here is that I just need to find the excuse to buy a new dress. Don’t know why I waited so long But we will definitely get back to it later, now I want to share a few dresses from Cannes 2012 red carpet, that I absolutely loved.

First of all, Jane Fonda in amazing Atelier Versace dress. Look how beautiful and sexy she is! I don’t even want to mention her age, but damn, what a body! I guess her obsession with aerobics paid off. It is about time I dig out her video tape, the one I used to have when I was a kid, and start working out.

Next on my amazing dresses list is Berenice Bejo in red Louis Vuitton. I loved everything about this dress – the color, shape, how it looks on Berenice! I think it was a perfect choice.

Diane Kruger looked gorgeous in this flowing Giambattista Valli Couture dress. I don’t know why, but the word goddess comes to mind when I look at her pictures in this dress.

I also liked Eva Longoria in Marchesa, although I did get the deja vu feeling, like somewhere I saw it before.

Eva rocked another dress during the dinner, and I probably love this Alberta Ferretti gown even better than Marchesa.

A lot of resources were raving about Freida Pinto’s red carpet Michael Angel dress, but I think that she looked much better and more intriguing in Versace.

So, these are my most favorite dresses from the fist day of Cannes Film Festival 2012. Hopefully we will see a lot of amazing gowns till the end of the festival on the 27th of May.

Top 10 Celebrity Girls via Forbes “The Celebrity 100″

I have just received information about one of my most favorite Forbes lists – “The Celebrity 100“. I somehow missed to write my thoughts about it last year, but if you are interested you can see my opinion on this two years ago.

“The Celebrity 100″ is put together taking into consideration not only the amount of money each celebrity earned during the year, but also their web and other media influence. So, in order to be considered as the most successful, celebrities should not only earn money, but also create a buzz around their name over the year.

I was happy to see that 7 celebrity girls are in the top 10! Amazing, it leaves the room for only 3 guys on the top. Only Justin Bieber made it to the 3rd place, Tom Cruise on the 9th and Steven Spielberg on the 10th. Guess this means celebrity girls know how to earn money and make people talk about them much better than guys.

And by the way 3 of the girls from top 20 were seen in “11 Most Successful Celebrity Girls of 2011” feature here on Rich Girls Club. Which makes me really happy These 3 girls are: Rihanna, Kim Kardashian and Beyonce Knowles.

Anyway, back to “The Celebrity 100″ list by Forbes. As we are only interested in girls and their success stories, here is the Top 10 Most Successful Celebrity Girls:

3 – Rihanna – $53 Million

As we can see from this list, although Oprah Winfrey earned a whopping $165 Million this year, she is still a little behind Jennifer Lopez. Somehow I don’t think that Oprah is frustrated, at least I wouldn’t be if I were her. Funny thing is that only yesterday, I thought about Jennifer Lopez. I noticed that she appears in almost every advertisement lately: Fiat, Gillette, Kohl’s, L’Oreal, her own fragrance. She was also a face for Spanish brand Tous and even appeared in Gucci commercials with her kids. Jennifer Lopez also has a strong social media following with 6.6 million on Twitter and 12 million on Facebook. She is the star-judge on American Idol and this weekend (18.05.2012) the long awaited movie “What To Expect When You Are Expecting” is coming out with J.Lo as one of the stars. I guess that Forbes’ journalist Dorothy Pomerantz couldn’t be more precise calling Jennifer Lopez “a state-of-the-art celebrity success story.”

Although Kim Kardashian earned far less than her top 10 celebrity peers, she definitely gained massive publicity with her wedding and divorce. I guess any publicity counts, even the bad one.

I think it is very useful to look at the lists like this one, because it inspires you to try harder and dream a little bit bigger. When I see that there are girls who can succeed in this world beyond my wildest imagination with their talent, hard work, a little bit of luck and other wits, it helps me to move forward and try a little bit harder. The other reason why I love “The Celebrity 100″ list, is that these people earned their money and not inherited them. One more thing to admire and respect them for.

Style Set: Day On The Beach

So, since I am officially addicted to making style sets, here is my latest creation: the perfect look for a day on the beach. This summer I am super happy for the one-piece trend (means I don’t have to sweat too much to improve my stomach)

I was writing about my most favorite beach cover-ups previously, but it seams I have found one more favorite: tunic from Gottex. I love the colors and the fact that it has long sleeves. Now when the heat is back in Marbella, I understand that the lesser my skin is exposed to the sun the better. That is why I have added a hat to this set as well.

The Look For The Weekend In Puerto Banus

I love Friday, mainly because the whole weekend is ahead and you can plan different fun activities. I am definitely going to one of my favorite restaurants here in Puerto Banus tonight, then to a bar for a drink or two and afterwards go to dance! What are your plans for this weekend, girls?

Sophisticated Mothers Day Gifts

I have already listed my 5 Mothers Day gift essentials as well as ideas for spending this day in style and luxury. So, now I guess whats left is to create a list of Mothers Day gift ideas and this topic will be fully covered.

When I try to figure out what gift to get for my mother I always start with something that I would be happy to receive myself. Then I adjust it to the brands she likes and what she needs the most at the moment. My preferred list of options include designer handbags or clutches, exquisite wallets, scarves, jewelry or something similar. Easter weekend reminded me that summer is approaching faster than I expected. A lot of posh places celebrated their opening nights here in Marbella and this means that the new party season has started.

Summer season for me is all about the beach, sun and pool parties! So, in order to be ready for this party season, I decided to start looking for the perfect cover-up. Ladies, you can’t go to the beach without a perfect kaftan or cover-up, right? Truth is, that every summer I buy a new cool tunic, wear it once or twice and then just lose it somewhere or just forget about it. I don’t know what happens with me and tunics all the time, but trust my experience, girls, there are no cool beach tunics to be found in July. Backless Dresses: Sexy, Elegant and Chic

We were celebrating my friends’ birthday in “La Sala” the other day, and there was one girl, sitting at the nearby table, who draw attention of all men in the restaurant to herself. Well, maybe it was because she was sitting with the TOWIE stars, but I think that it was mostly because of her amazing backless dress. Even I couldn’t help but looking at the girl’s bare back in owe and, yes, I admit it – jealousy. In order to pull the backless dress off, you need to have a great back! And unfortunately (or luckily ) I am more satisfied with my front view

My Most Favorite “Mad Men” Girls And Their Outfits

This Sunday one of my most favorite tv-shows – “Mad Men” – returns with the season 5 premier. While all the fans, myself included, are waiting this 2 hour season premier in anticipation, prepare special cocktails or parties, I decided to recall why I loved the show in the first place.

If someone would advise me to watch a show about the life and work in the sixties, I would laugh. As this is something I never was interested in. I am not too much into history, I love the times we all are living in and don’t want to be transported into any another year or century. I love it now and I think it is the most perfect time for everything. And even after becoming a true fan of “Mad Men”, I am still happy I was born in the 80s, although I do admit that it is fun to have a peak into sixties thanks to “Mad Men”.

I was hooked to these tv-series from the very first episode and even though I still don’t remember what or who made me watch these series in the first place, I loved everything about “Mad Men”. The fashion, the drama, the hair, the office – everything seemed to be so perfectly unreal to me. I couldn’t believe that only fifty years ago women were so dependent on men and their only possible career option was to be a secretary! And maybe that’s why “Mad Men” for me is not about Don Draper, but the three ladies and how they try to find their place in the society. These ladies are: Betty Draper (January Jones), Joan Harris (Christina Hendricks) and Peggy Olson (Elisabeth Moss). I love everything about them, how they look, how they act, but most of all, what they wear! And here are some of my most favorite outfits (well, at least those I could find) from the show.
